give me my tooth fairy money
Damn, I haven’t even paid the first month of the years rent and I’m already slacking on the blog. Anyway, here’s what the fuck is up:
I’ve always had one at work, so it just makes sense that my personal email should also have one. I’m not really sure why I never made one in the past…
What is Lonely
As far as the book itself, I haven’t really done anything in the last week or so because I’m still reading through some other graphic novels, and waiting for some supplies to come in the mail. Supplies include:
- Bristol Board
- India Ink
- New Nibs
I’ve started doing some illustrations and working a bit more thought into Thirty-Three. I don’t want it to be the last minute throw-together that I usually put out. So, I’ve been trying to recall past situations and such… hopefully I can bring it all together in a super random way that at least I like. Especially since my half-birthday was a couple days ago… time is running out.
I’m done with this post, I’ll put up an illustration in a couple minutes. Later crocodiles.
So… cartoons were good tonight, Bob sold out his family… Stan caught a case of the sleepwalker… I was able to make a beer run while Family Guy was flogging a dead horse. All in all, it seems the night is going pretty well. We flipped through the channels and found a postmortem Paul McCartney wave his mullet all over the TV with… I dunno, drumsyncing (?) over dubbed drumming by the original big nosed idiot Ringo Starr. Yeah… here goes the Grammys… fueled by Schlitz.
Then Metallica (however the fuck that’s spelled) ruined one of their own songs… which should only be a task reserved for poor covers played on super market radio stations. …and just when we thought it should be over… ol’ big lips from Aerosmith tried to sing a Smokey Robinson song, and I wanted to kill myself, but before that could happen Daft Punk won a Grammy… for some stupid fucking reason.
Here’s a picture of me throwing 40oz. bottles at the TV:
seriously, Green Day has a touring broadway show …this post is so fucking dead to me.
This was a style of quickness that I learned from Red Meat. I always wanted to apply it to Albatross (sp?), but never really got around to it until today. The slab serif font could use a little thickness, because it gets really hard to read at this size (just click it to see the full view.)
If you’ve never listened to King Diamond, you probably won’t get this… and if you’ve never listened to Them, you definitely won’t. It doesn’t matter though, usually these types of comics don’t make sense.
So… more random practice on a new drawing technique(?)/style prepping me for longer runs of consistency at an acceptable pace. This one is a play on the Cooking Show video series I thought up a couple of years back, but never fully got around to finishing anything more than the theme song… maybe one day I’ll record that one for you. Anyway, without further ado, I give you… Makin’ Bacon:
Last night I had this dream that I’m sure had a lot of homesickness built into it… I drew a picture about it, but it only touches on certain parts and is basically just to remind me about the whole…
In case anyone is wondering what BLC Ypsi-Hardcore sounds like, here’s an example of that:
…sorry I haven’t posted in a couple days. I’m slackin’ on my resolution, but trust me… I’ve been working on lots of stuff. Mainly What is Lonely, I took a break from Thirty-Three & the Nuns of Yore… more to come soon…
So, here’s what’s up… a.k.a – busting the nutshell wide open:
I’m trying to possibly take on a new client (yes, in addition to all the other stuff I’m always doing.) Hungry people can’t turn down paying gigs. This is the part where I professionally tell the reader that I will explain more about it as the job progresses, but then don’t ever mention it again because I bomb the interview with my awkward social behavior. Either way… I’m updating my website for the first time since it’s major hack/crash that took place sometime after my fonts started to gain popularity. Thanks to all the people who liked & downloaded my fonts… and double thanks to all the random people who send me money & emails every once in a while telling me how much they love what I do.
– – – AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT – – –
So, today was a killer of a work day. I’m an exhausted fish. I promised everyone a metal album after 2 days off, but then took on more that I could promise… as a compromise, I released my self-titled Kids That Play Dead album of 2013 demos for Thirty-Three. So, in all fairness… I should totally post the 4 pieces of songs that I was working on for the Nuns of Yore album. Mark my words, I will write words, finish this album… and it will be both offensive and hilarious to some. Probably offensive to most, but without further ado…
The Nuns of Yore – 2 Days Off Demo
As some of you may or may not know… I’ve maintained a “record label” website and tried to consistently work on random musical projects. So, I had a project over the past couple days where I was working on called The Nuns of Yore. While working on that, I decided that it was also time to go back and redo the way I have the current Coats & Corpses website to have some more up to date releases… like the Pucker Up… EXPLODE! albums I’ve been releasing.
All this being said… I haven’t really posted anything online that I’ve been working on since the last PUE album (other than the 2 New Years songs) So, today I submit to you… a demo compilation that I made for myself in December to keep my head in the game. See what I like and what I’d like to change… either way, this is the first taste of Thirty-Three. The following 9 tracks are not complete… a lot of them just sort of end, some of them may never make it past this “release”, others may go onto other projects (track 8 is being used in The Nuns of Yore) …and this is actually the second demo I’ve put together for Thirty-Three… maybe one day I’ll post the first one if anyone else is into my musical evolution. Probably not though…
