Truck Wrap

Got the first truck wrap done today for K.L.Jack. This is the third one of these I’ve ever designed, but it’s been a long time since the old Fun Bus days at the Russell Industrial Center… and boy, have I come a long way as a designer. Not that this was easy, by any means. There were a lot of versions and revisions, but I’m happy to say that I think the final product looks pretty effin‘ good.

My boss took these pictures, and the wrap was done by M&H Signs in Westbrook, Maine. Check this –ish out…

Notice the faint illustrations of fasteners in the red. You don’t see them from a distance, or when the truck is moving, but when you get up close you notice them. It’s like a little additional wow factor that the viewer gets when they’re by the truck. You’re welcome.

I wasn’t fully on board with putting a graphic on the hood, but looking at the finished product… I like the way it came out. It’s not too flat, and that was one of the things I was worried about. I think it adds a little more shape to the hood, and I like that it’s fairly minimal.

The rest of the photos are just some shots of the vehicle from other angles, and yes that is Han Solo frozen in carbonite (bottom left.)

” He should be quite well protected. If he survived the freezing process, that is.”

One down, next week we wrap a box truck.

Tapping the predictive text button – or – a good day for the next few weeks

Weeks later this month in a while ago but the fact I can get it right away with the best of the day before I get a follow back on my way home from work to be the first half of the day before I get a follow back on my way home from work to be the first half of the year and the first half of the year and the other hand is the only thing that would have to go back and the other hand is the only thing that would have to go back and the first half of the day I have a great way of life and I don’t think that I can see it as an excuse for the next few weeks of a sudden it was the best of the year of high quality of life and the first half of the day I have a great way of the year of high quality of life is the only one that is a good time with the first half of the year of high quality and I don’t think that I have a good time with the first half of the day before the end of the day before the end of the year and a great…

In other news… here’s a “finger drawing” I’ve been working on.

Fruity Pebbles

Woke up at 5:30 for an early meeting. Watching My Three Sons, I started thinking about the digital distortion offered by over the air TV today. How when this show had originally aired they probably dealt with rolling picture, and other distortions of the time. This show never knew that it would find such strange beauty in the digital age.

Made me miss the old days of scrambled porn, and reminds me a bit of my collage work.

…and I Didn’t Break Any Records.

So, this is pretty sketchy, and it’s super shitty snow storm outside so… I didn’t do my traditional Illustration Lottery for today. Anyway, here’s the sketch for a new So, I Had This Dream. It’s just the photo blue & graphite pencil, but…  I did ink the text (otherwise it would appear invisible.) This will probably be done in the next couple days, so we’ll see how it turns out. Anyway, here it goes…

Hull Rd. on Repeat

Last night I had this dream that I’m sure had a lot of homesickness built into it… I drew a picture about it, but it only touches on certain parts and is basically just to remind me about the whole…

In case anyone is wondering what BLC Ypsi-Hardcore sounds like, here’s an example of that:

…sorry I haven’t posted in a couple days. I’m slackin’ on my resolution, but trust me… I’ve been working on lots of stuff.  Mainly What is Lonely, I took a break from Thirty-Three & the Nuns of Yore… more to come soon…

Anti-Professionalism at its Best

So, here’s what’s up… a.k.a – busting the nutshell wide open:

I’m trying to possibly take on a new client (yes, in addition to all the other stuff I’m always doing.) Hungry people can’t turn down paying gigs. This is the part where I professionally tell the reader that I will explain more about it as the job progresses, but then don’t ever mention it again because I bomb the interview with my awkward social behavior. Either way… I’m updating my website for the first time since it’s major hack/crash that took place sometime after my fonts started to gain popularity. Thanks to all the people who liked & downloaded my fonts… and double thanks to all the random people who send me money & emails every once in a while telling me how much they love what I do.

– – – AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT – – –

So, today was a killer of a work day. I’m an exhausted fish. I promised everyone a metal album after 2 days off, but then took on more that I could promise… as a compromise, I released my self-titled Kids That Play Dead album of 2013 demos for Thirty-Three. So, in all fairness… I should totally post the 4 pieces of songs that I was working on for the Nuns of Yore album. Mark my words, I will write words, finish this album… and it will be both offensive and hilarious to some. Probably offensive to most, but without further ado…
