…you know the rest.
I didn’t really feel like doing any drawing today, but I forced myself. I do it for the blog.. I do it for the love…. I do it for the 4 people that may actually read this in a couple months after daily posts. So, I still need a theme for Monday’s, but I had the whole Garfield idea, which was.. cats, lasagna, Monday, people who talk to their cat, boring comics, awkward humor… I rolled the dice, this is what I got.
P.S. – I think the scanner isn’t working, so you get a photo, either way… Don’t feel like drawing? Force yourself, you’re only hurting your future.
So, this is pretty sketchy, and it’s super shitty snow storm outside so… I didn’t do my traditional Illustration Lottery for today. Anyway, here’s the sketch for a new So, I Had This Dream. It’s just the photo blue & graphite pencil, but… I did ink the text (otherwise it would appear invisible.) This will probably be done in the next couple days, so we’ll see how it turns out. Anyway, here it goes…
This was a style of quickness that I learned from Red Meat. I always wanted to apply it to Albatross (sp?), but never really got around to it until today. The slab serif font could use a little thickness, because it gets really hard to read at this size (just click it to see the full view.)
If you’ve never listened to King Diamond, you probably won’t get this… and if you’ve never listened to Them, you definitely won’t. It doesn’t matter though, usually these types of comics don’t make sense.
So… more random practice on a new drawing technique(?)/style prepping me for longer runs of consistency at an acceptable pace. This one is a play on the Cooking Show video series I thought up a couple of years back, but never fully got around to finishing anything more than the theme song… maybe one day I’ll record that one for you. Anyway, without further ado, I give you… Makin’ Bacon:
